UKRAINIAN OPERA DIRECTING IN CONTEXT OF ODESSA MUSICAL THEATER TRADITIONS

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the experience of Ukrainian opera direction XXth century at the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater. The author comes to the conclusion that the historical tradition of opera direction at the Odessa Opera, as laid down in the first days of its existence, constantly enriched with new forms, it should be recognized that sometimes experimental, and more or less developed according to the layers of time, which were due to variations in the ideological context of the era.
