Summary/Abstract: The content of the article it is a text of a public lecture which Voegelin delivered on June 9, 1959, in the Amerikahaus of Munich, Germany. At the beginning the author observes that we presently live in „an epoch of industrial society,” ie. in such a society where productiveness and economic order are determined by modern technology. Societies, to exist in such circumstances, have to meet some conditions, such as: extensive territory, raw materials, and masses of people. Then, the author searches for the explanation of a fact that all non-western world has been „over-westernized,” which is witnessed by that life standards developed in the West – especially in United States – has become paradigms for all the others. The author indicates that there is a certain world revolution, whose headquarter is located in Europe and United States, and whose aim is to spread technological civilization all over the world. This world ideology can not be stopped. Then, the author concludes that we face the hard work to restore the European and Western order, and not to be destructed by the industrial ideology.
