Summary/Abstract: Since august 2017, several provisions of the Labour Code have been modified seeking to combat the illegal work. In this context, the Romanian legislator stated that in case of illegal work, the labour inspector should apply, as a complementary sanction, the cessation of the activity of the organized work place under verification/investigation. Analysing the provisions of the Romanian Labour Law with regard to the sense of the concept “working place”, results that it may have several meanings, which make even the prerogatives of the labour inspectors unclear. This article aims to analyse the meanings of the notion “working place” in order to establish the scope of the amendments to the Labour Code.
