Summary/Abstract: The article contains the analysis of a position of the competitiveness in Ukraine. The author proved that the presence and a high level of a competitive environment in the internal product markets is the main factor providing the global competitiveness of the country.The position of a competitive environment in the country economy was analyzed. A role of monopolies regarding restraining the competition development was determined. Measures of fighting against abusing the antitrust legislation and measures providing the economic competition development were proposed.
