Summary/Abstract: The aims of the article were: to show the phytosociological and ecological spectrum of Galeopsis angustifolia in phytocoenoses found in different ruderal habitats of the Silesian Uplands and to compare the floristic composition of communities with Galeopsis angustifolia from the Silesian Uplands with similar occuring in other parts of Poland. Vegetation samples were made in the field by applying Braun-Blanquet method. In order to show habitat preferences of species occurring in those phytocoenoses Ellenberg and Zarzycki Indicator values (L – light values, T – temperature, F – moisture, R – soil acidity values, N – trophy values, D − soil granulometric values, H – organic matter content) were used. The classification revealed the presence of 3 groups of communities, which differ mainly in reference to soil moisture (F), temperature (T) and organic matter content (H). There were also found significant differences between these groups in terms of species richness, diversity and floristic composition (number and cover of segetal, ruderal, and thermophilous species). Patches with Galeopsis angustifolia from Silesian Upland differ from other regions of higher proportion of ruderal perenial species from the Artemisietea vulgaris class and higher frequency of Calamagrostis epigejos and Solidago canadensis
