Image of financial controller in the opinion of students of WSB University in Gdańsk

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the results of scientific reconnaissance conducted to determine professional and personal components of financial controller image in the opinion of future accountants and financiers. Financial controller is a poorly recognized profession. In the respondents’ opinion, the controller is a responsible, accurate and fair person. He/she has high qualifications and he/she is resistant to stress. The controller has large business knowledge. In his/her work he/she is guided by the objectives of the company, being able to keep due diligence and secrecy. He/she is well organized, persuasive and able to explain. His/her communicativeness, easiness in making contact and the ability to work in a team were rated as average. Controller is not a friendly person and does not have a high level of leadership skills. His/her work was found as positively influencing the management process in the company. Controller is a profession with a future with an average position in society.
