Shaping of the household budgets of the self-employed in Poland in years 1993-2015

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of changes in demand for selected elements of consumer basket of households of the self-employed, which took place in Poland in the years 1993-2015. Households are the primary operator – they are not only the oldest but also the most important economic institution in the world. For this reason, their finances are one of the fundamental elements shaping the socio-economic policy of the state. This article aims to analyze changes in the level and structure of spending self-employed households on selected elements of consumer basket (food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, housing equipment, recreation and culture and health). Methodology of research presented in the article includes literature studies, analysis of existing data drawn from the data of the Central Statistical Office and the statistical and logical inference.
