Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of using early warning systems to restructuring processes. Early warning systems are very important to make decisions about bankruptcy. In the last year Restructuring Act was implemented in Poland to help enterprises having financial trouble continue their activity. The main purpose of the article is to show how to use early warning systems in taking decisions, if a company can be restructured or if it should declare bankruptcy. Decision about restructuring a company is very important for its owners – it is better than bankruptcy. In the article the following research methods were applied: analysis of the literature, induction, deduction, the analysis of legal acts.
