Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify the roles of convention bureau in local meeting industry. The online survey was conducted among 73 convention bureau managers acting in cities listed in the ICCA’s ranking (according to the number of international meetings). In research the IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) was used. On the basis of literature analsysis five main roles of convention bureau were recognised: an agent, a coordinator, a leader, a representative and a marketer. It has been assumed that the leaders in the ranking combine all these roles, whereas organisations in cities with the lower number of international meeting focus on the agent’s role. The hypothesis has not been confirmed.
