From the improvement processes to the creation of value streams in automotive industry

Summary/Abstract: Manufacturing companies from the automotive industry implement the concept of value streams, which aim is to obtain results in more flexible processes and lower inventory costs of intermediate storage. Two methods of implementation of value streams in automotive industry are observed: revolutionary and evolutionary. The aim of the article is to present the methods of implementation of value streams and presentation of an example of implementation of value stream concept in a business which has chosen one of the above methods. The article is of a practical nature, and basic research methods used for its preparation are participant observation and casy study
