Youth labour market differentiation in the member states of the European Union

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was the grouping of EU-countries in terms of the similarity of the labour markets of youth (aged 15-24). Ward’s method was used. EU countries were divided into 4 groups as a result of the cluster analysis. The Europe Union was split into the south with enormous imbalance on the youth labour market and the north with a relatively good situation. In addition, it was found on the basis of increasing coefficient of variation of the unemployment rate that labor markets of youth in the EU after the crisis were characterized by the growing divergence.
