The Territorial Army of Switzerland

Summary/Abstract: The Territorial Army of Switzerland is the important instrument of the state security policy. The development of the territorial army and the improvement of the defense capacity contributed to strengthening Switzerland’s international position and deter potential opponents. Swiss experiences (eg. building a regional identity and activating the local community to defend the „Little Motherland”) were used in the construction of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Republic of Poland.
