Project personality of managers in investment construction projects

Summary/Abstract: The article points out that the construction industry is not significantly different from others in terms of the business administration fundamentals. On the other hand, a specificity of the sector seems to be more evident in project management. It has been described that features of the construction industry have a significant impact on shaping the attributes of construction projects. On the basis of the results of empirical research, it has been indicated what becomes a challenge for construction project managers. The biggest problem is connected with (not) meeting certain deadlines of the project. Measurements of the time (schedule) and costs (budget) are the most important factors of the risk management in construction projects. The core competencies of construction managers have been defined. It has been indicated that there is a need for creating project manager’s maturity. It is also crucial to stimulate the project manager personality thanks to younger generations.
