Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is to analyze and evaluate privatization process in Poland from the perspective of meeting its goals. The additional one, taking into account that privatization, which lasted for more than a quarter of a century, has been officially terminated, to answer the question, whether, within these goals, privatization policy made use of all the possibilities provided by the post-communist ownership change. The analysis has been carried out through comparative analysis of privatization effects and its goals as they had been set by transition policy-makers. The results of the analysis show that none of the goals has been fully met and that in every such area certain unused potential still exists. This brings to the conclusion that the decision of the Polish government on privatization closedown originates rather from changing priorities of its economic policy than from full depletion of privatization gains.
