Summary/Abstract: This paper is a historiographical overview of the studies on the image of the four interrelated gods. These gods, Hapi, Duamutef, Kebehsenuf and Amseti, were called «The Children of Horus» in ancient religious texts. Among the majority of Egyptologists they are thought to be protectors of the organs of the deceased. Nevertheless some researchers point out that this function of these gods was not the only and probably not the main. The reason of this problem is connected with the scarce condition of scrutiny of the role of these gods in Ancient Egyptian mythology. The analysis of all known studies on the Children of Horus is being carried out in this research. This historiographical overview can help to detect those gaps, which exist in the current theme.
