Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to show how the financial situation of Polish households will change following the introduction of “Family 500+” program. The study used data from a representative Polish Household Budget Survey. The research included such redistributive effects of the reform as its impact on the scope and the depth of poverty and income inequalities. The effects of the program were measured as the difference between the values of the disposable income of households before and after its implementation. Suitable measures allowed to assess the risk of poverty for different types of households and inequalities. An alternative form of the reform was also considered. Polish solutions were replaced with elements of different construction from foreign systems of support for families and their hypothetical effects were compared.
