Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to address the question of the current state of language awareness of professional journalists, as well as the impact of this state on the culture of the spoken word in the Polish media institutions. The study confirmed that the language awareness of the aforementioned diagnosed groups is relatively low. The results obtained show a significant problem in the currently evolving media context. This study also highlights the educational aspect as it is the duty of media institutions to promote the culture of the spoken word of the native tongue. This study covers issues that are relevant when diagnosing the levels of language awareness in terms of the culture of the spoken word. The article contains a discussion on the principles of correct Polish pronunciation and composition, interpersonal communication, body language, or voice production in speech.
