The population that uses water supply and water-line rate of municipalities − the base building method and estimates

Summary/Abstract: In the work, Registry of Land and Buildings, Geodetic Register of the Terrain Fitting Network and Base of Buildings were analyzed. It was stated that Base of Buildings provided the only valuable source of information about the number of buildings and dwellings equipped with water supply and sewage installations by their location. The methods for calculating the number of population that uses water supply and the rate of water-line system were developed. The methods were evaluated by comparing achieved results with estimates of the Central Statistical Office in Warsaw. The difference between rates of water-line system calculated by the base building method and estimates of the Central Statistical Office was indicated. It was stated that Base of Buildings can provide a source of data for calculating sewerage of municipalities and agglomerations indicators as tools for updating the National Programme for Municipal Wastewater Treatment.
