IMMAGINARIO ACQUATICO E POETICA LETTERARIA NEI POETI ITALIANI DELL’INIZIO DEL NOVECENTO

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the ways in which poetry uses water-related themes and theirfigurative occurrences at the beginning of the twentieth century. Sea journeys, shipwrecks, andimmersion represent cultural and poetic archetypes. This article tries to present the way in which theimagery related to the theme of the water changes according to the poetics of the area in which it wascreated. The water and the sea journey are themes interpreted differently by the authors who proposethem. What is peculiar in the case of the poets belonging to the first half of the twentieth century,especially the Crepusculars but also the Hermeticists, is the fact that the perception of water can bedecoded as an ars poetica in the literary microcosm in which it becomes reality.
