The new realities of classical music in the post-Soviet cultural situation

Summary/Abstract: The author focuses on the influence of mass culture, which is presented as an entertainment component, on the existence of new forms of music Classics in today's socio-cultural situation. The basic parameters of mass and elite musical cultures, characterized by the so-called "middle culture" – the brainchild of the late twentieth century. Accentuated changes in the triad composerperformer- listener, according to strengthen the role of reception in modern concert practice. Level presentation outlined the classical heritage in Ukraine, defined alternative places of existence and new formats sound of classical music.
