Identification of factors determining the households’ housing situation

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the research is an attempt to identify the factors determining the housing situation of households in Poland. Household, is a subject to change, e.g. when going through different phases of the life cycle of the family. The way household manages its spending varies depending on the household’s life cycle phase. Changes in spending patterns may be due to changes in basic demographic characteristics and household composition changes. Additional factors determining the household endowment include such characteristics as: age of the head of household and occupation of the head of the household, size of household, the number of children, etc. Increasingly, the level of equipment of households with durable goods serves as an indicator illustrating the material standard of living of the population. To identify the factors determining household endowment with selected durable goods, correspondence analysis and logistic regression were used.
