Ecological awareness of residents of Lower Silesia province in the context of survey

Summary/Abstract: The implementation of the concept of sustainable development is one of directions taken by The Republic of Poland by many political acts and declarations. The concept of sustainable development should be realized not only on the governmental level but first of all in ecological awareness of society. The article presents results of the survey that concerned the ecological awareness of society in Lower Silesia province. In the survey three groups were taken into account: society of rural area and societies of small and large cities. The aim of the study was to define a stage of realization of sustainable development in social dimension. The comparison of results in each researched group showed similarities and differences in proecological attitudes in relation to the place of living. On the base of conducted research the evaluation of the stage of realization of the sustainable development in social dimension was presented.
