Measurement of assessing of effectiveness of health care units. Chosen aspects

Summary/Abstract: Medical entities are set up to provide medical services. These services have special importance because health is a fundamental good. In the evaluation of medical services counts not only efficiency but also fairness in their distribution and financing. For these reasons, medical activity, unlike many other human activities, is more strongly dependent on political decisions. Contemporary states interfere in the organization and financing of health system. This situation significantly affects the effectiveness of the functioning of health care units. Therefore, the study, based on literature, attempts to answer the question of how well known and commonly used financial measures can be used in estimating the economic efficiency of managing medical entities.
