Summary/Abstract: The article investigates the archetypes, their significance and role in the context of domestic humanitarian thought. It is based on the research of the S. Krimsky, which brightly has reflected ontological trends of modern domestic humanities in search of theoretical understanding of the phenomenon "archetype". Archetypes are considered, on the one side as a universal basic category of culture, on the other as being typical of the mentality of certain ethno-national community. It is an ethnic and national archetypes. Is considered an important ratio of national archetypes as universals of national culture and universal archetypes culture. One of the most productive ways humanities research today considered the appeal to the universals of culture, which include archetypes. Born in the days of antiquity, the problem arche-types as universal cultural phenomena exists today – as a philosophical, historical, cultural, psychological, art and even social and political dominant.
