Areas of competition between airports in Poznań and Wrocław

Summary/Abstract: The main topic of this paper is competition between airports. It is important from the point of view of passenger and aircarrier. Airports compete among others for passengers, aircarriers and slot time. A classic case of competition are airports in Poznań and Wrocław. The main aim of this article is to analyze the impact of the instruments of competition between airports in Poznań and Wrocław. The author performed market research in the analyzed airports and used secondary data. The main method used in the process of achieving the objective was to analyze comparative literature, analysis of source documents and heuristic analysis. Additionally segregation and grouping of data obtained was made. The main instrument of competition is an offer of carriers, the area of impact of airports and well functioning system of airports links. Competition between airports contributes to the economic development of cities and regions.
