Member states’ preferences for the EU budget of New Europe

Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the article was to analyse preferences of the net contributors and net recipients of the EU budget for its size and structure after 2020 and consequences for Poland in the shadow of Brexit and changing balance in the negotiating power of the Memebr States in the EU. It was assumed that Brexit strenghtens previous tendencesis for the maintenance of status quo of the EU budget and weakens these Memebr States which are supporting reforms of the EU budget and EU institutions. The consolidation of the Euro zone should be seen as the most influencing factor on the European Union integration in the future, leading to the marginalisation of the non-euro Memebr States in the decision making process.
