The new role for China – how can we accept it?.

Summary/Abstract: Could China become an acceptable leader of the world, who not only offers impressive quantities of production and exports, but also shapes the way we think? Potentially, a candidate for a co-leader is emerging, however, a leader whose acceptance may create some problems for many. Not only efficiency of the Chinese economy has changed. China is trying to seal their success with the Belt and Road project, which is supposed to create infrastructure for its development on a global scale. Should the future world be organized according to the existing Western order, with all its known shortcomings, or should it accept the growing role of Pax Sinica based on Chinese recipes for success and respective cultural tradition? Could the rivalry degenerate into some form of confrontation? This would create great additional uncertainty. The world is undergoing deep structural changes and some of the advantages of old leaders are becoming less obvious. The author believes that this time, success cannot be on one side only.
