Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to point out the main determinants which have an impact on the space security as well as the implementation of the solutions which contribute to the improvement of its security. The area of research is Toruń, with the special attention paid to the particularly rapidly developing district of Bydgoskie Przedmieście, the said development taking place at the turn of the 19th century.
