From RAMEAU to the Romanian Subject Heading List

Summary/Abstract: Articolul abordează problema creării Fişierului de autoritate de subiecte la nivelul reţelei de biblioteci din România, ca parte integrantă a programului Catalogului colectiv. Constituirea acestui fişier de autoritate a avut ca bază de pornire traducerea şi adaptarea în limba română a Repertoriului RAMEAU. Articolul este centrat pe problemele lingvistice generate de traducere şi adaptare a tezaurului enciclopedic francez. De asemenea, se ia în considerare posibilitatea utilizării proiectului FAST în vederea perfecţionării sistemului de căutare. The issue deals with the developing of the National Subject Heading Authority File in Romanian library networks, as a part of the collective cataloguing program. The starting point of the creation of this authority file is the translation and adaptation of RAMEAU into Romanian. The paper focuses on the discussion of the linguistic problems raised by the translation and adaptation of the French encyclopaedic thesaurus.It also tackles with the possibility of the application of FAST project with view to improving the search capacity.
