Innovation in Poland against the background of chosen countries according to GII ranking

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to compare national innovation systems in developed countries of the world and Poland by analyzing changes in the Global Innovation Index in 2012 and 2015. In countries where the GII increased in the fastest way, also an indicator of pro-innovation performance and innovation increased, but much more the latter one. This may indicate that the invested funds and activities have or have not produced the expected results. Poland was one of the countries where the investments did not produce results. It may be inferred from the fact that Polish National Innovation System requires changes and adaptations to rapidly changing conditions both nationally and globally
