Summary/Abstract: This article includes an overview of methods of energy efficiency improvement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) applied in Poland. It describes the experience of the implementation of energy efficiency programme in Poland, introduced in 2013 by Polish Agency for Enterprise Development’s. Evaluation of the programme shows that energy savings were over 6-times higher than expected by the programme’s author before its implementation and amounted to 53 TJ. Financial savings were almost 5-times higher than expected and amounted to PLN 7.3m. Guidelines for decision makers which would be responsible for the development of similar programmes in the future are presented.
