Legitimation Crisis of Postsocialist Systems

Summary/Abstract: The collectivist ideology of nationalisms in most states which have come out in the open from the totalitarian Bolshevik sway has triumphed over the idea of the free self-confident individual. In most “young democracies” nationalism has proved the central integrational and stabilizational force of the system and the factor which significantly contributes to its pseudolegitimation. The author claims that only the concept of a bourgeois state which takes into consideration basic human rights and freedoms and the dignity of each individual enables the overcoming of the legitimation crisis of these regimes.
