Konrad Górski, the Mickiewicz Scholar: an Attempt at Critical Revision

Summary/Abstract: This Toruń-based scholar has bestowed us with an enormous output, part of which is a number of interpretative dissertations and editorial works focused on Mickiewicz. However, not all of the Górski essays on the Polish Romantic Bard have stood the test of time. It seems that interpretative theses by Górski form, relatively, the least powerful part of his output, in terms of our contemporary Mickiewicz scholarship. In contrast, his editorial achievements and textological findings are doubtless settled for good in research and scholarly afterthought.
