Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the gendering the image of the USSR in American cinema during the Cold war (1946—1963). The author points out that Hollywood’s images of Soviet and American masculinity, femininity, family and love served as a weapon of international ideological confrontation as well as a part of the «Feminine Mystique» discourse which aimed to support a certain gender order in the US.
