Summary/Abstract: The study offers so far neglected view of the entry of Archduchess Eleanor Maria on the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth at the beginning of year 1670 and of the wedding ceremony that took place on occasion of her wedding with Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki. Based on the theoretical concept of the symbolic communication the study tries to focus on the distribution of symbols, rituals, mindsets and values in the communication space of the royal entries and wedding ceremonies as occasions for displaying the Emperor´s authority, legitimacy and for better understanding of structures of the Early Modern society. The entry of the Emperess-widow Maria Eleanor Gonzaga accompanied by her daughters into Czenstochowa, Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki´s with his spouse into Warsaw and the wedding ceremonies carried a rich communicative and meaningful context.
