Summary/Abstract: Noica la a doua tinereţe begins with a case study, but develops a more general view on the debates of the contemporary Romanian intellectuals. The focus point is Constantin Noica, an admirer of the fascist movement from the 1940s and editor-in-chief of the legionary newspaper Buna Vestire, where he promoted nationalist, anti-Semite, fascist and xenophobe ideas. The contemporary volume Noica şi Mişcarea legionară, written by Sorin Lavric and published by the prestigious Humanitas publishing house in 2007, tries to excuse or to misinterpret the philosopher’s extreme right opinions. Despite the misjudgments, the theses of this book proved to be very popular among Romanian contemporary writers and intellectuals. In this essay, I demonstrate, with clear arguments and quotations, the volume’s errors in demonstration and interpretation.
