Summary/Abstract: The text deals with current trends in the insurance sector within the European Union, resp. within the Czech Republic. The text primarily analyzes the current legislative development, including the impact on the insurance undertakings. Furthermore, some current trends of the national insurance market are discussed in the text. In conclusion, there is outlined a brief assessment of the legislation as well as several de lege ferenda considerations.
