Summary/Abstract: The paper emphasizes some aspects of David Lodge's novels which were influenced by Catholicism.The following novels are analysed: "The Picturegoers?, "Ginger You're Barmy!?, "The British Museum Is Falling Down”, "How Far Can You Go?”, "Paradise News?. In these novels the idea is that the writer's interest goes to English Catholics and their dealing with the rest of the society. The writer's position is also highlighted regarding the fact that he combines detailed knowledge of the institution with cool observation.
