Dogmatic thought and functional thought in Lucian Blaga

Summary/Abstract: The paper argues that a functional moment is involved in the way how Lucian Blaga understands the religious dogma. It is shown that this moment exists also in some of the recent results of the scientific research, such as the acknowledgment of the dual character of light or of the so-called quantum entanglement. This functional moment is explained through what Imm. Kant called function of understanding, which allows the theoretical possibility of using our categories beyond any relationship to sensibility and imagination.
