Summary/Abstract: In the 21st century, the need for continuous collecting and processing of large amounts of data becomes everyday business. Most companies in the world, regardless of the size, profile and financial resources, acquire information they need to the decision-making process, while getting more access to ever-cheaper data. The aim of the paper is to introduce the concept of big data and to present the possibility of using big data by enterprises, both in supporting strategic decisions as well as in current marketing activities taken in the organization.
