Summary/Abstract: Public awareness campaigns have begun to actively use social media, including Twitter. This also concerns controversial social and political issues, new ideas and habits, arousing hot debates, as exemplified by same-sex unions. This chapter investigates the use of Twitter communication by the Polish and American organizations supporting same-sex unions in 2015. It serves as a case study to formulate conclusions about the role of Twitter in modern informational and educational campaigns.
