Summary/Abstract: The article presents partial findings of the research on the cultural continuity of the Ukrainian minority with a history of displacement (operation “Wisła” in 1947) in Poland from the perspective of women. The presented sample focuses on the specifics of cultural knowledge transfer on the example of practices of telling memories of displacement and of traditional women’s skills illustrated by the example of embroidery. These factors were chosen due to the twofold nature of cultural influence – through transfer of knowledge and skill. The changes of these practices over time (measured by generational change) reflect the overall transformations of the community itself, whose culture undergoes homogenisation as a unified national canon.
