Institutions promoting country’s international competitiveness according to World Economic Forum 2016-2017 – subjective and objective scope

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present the institutional conditions of country’s international competitiveness according to the 2016-2017 World Economic Forum (WEF) Report in view of modern challenges. The WEF studies become significant in light of approaching technological change, referred to as Fourth Industrial Revolution. Thus, knowledge of institutional determinants resulting from Forum’s studies can be one of the ways to channel the effects of modern technologies into economic growth. A comparison of results of the WEF studies with the output of New Institutional Economics representatives on the subject of sources of institutional change will enable showing the role of ”players” in creating institutions, institutional order and economic evolution.
