Institutions of the owner’s supervision of local government companies

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the article is to define the concept of ownership supervision institutions and to indicate and discuss their importance in the system of supervision of companies with capital of local government units. In the first part of the paper was characterized the concept of a company with the participation of local government units. Next nature of the owner’s supervision of self-government companies was discussed. In the second part, on the basis of theoretical considerations, the concept of supervisory institutions was defined, and types of institutions were have been mentioned and described, indicating their importance in the proper exercise of ownership and supervisory rights over companies. The author asserts that the concept of ownership supervision institutions should be understood formal and informal rules and procedures and entities that have been constituted by law and whose powers and competences determine the shape of the institution.
