Summary/Abstract: The international dispute over Falkland Islands/Malvinas lasts, at least, four centuries. It resulted in few armed conflicts, the last of them in 1982. Meanwhile intentional law evolved significantly. New legal instruments shall be useful in solving this old dispute. In the article the possibility of an application of the right of the peoples to self-determination to the sovereignty question in the case of Falkland Islands/Malvinas will be considered. It is based on the previous cases, where this right was applied or may have been applied.
