Formation of the litter reserves on upland meadows of the left-bank forest-steppe of Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The accumulation of litter on upland meadows in the studied area was calculated as 30.9–190.1 g/m2. For convenience the reserves can be divided into three groups. Depending on the weather conditions (temperature and rainfall) the litter consists of particular groups and has specific content of solid matter. The energy content of the studied meadows’ litter fluctuated in the range of 36.9–837.0 kkal/m2 and depends on the part of grass stand: upper, middle or lower one.
