Summary/Abstract: The ever more diverse range of offers directed at people’s stimuli is the answer given by the press to an ever growing demand. The speed of postmodernism and of our inner experiences can only be matched by and or drawn towards shocking pieces of news that bring the masses to a hypnotic standstill, imposing upon them certain ways of thinking and keeping them into a dependence-like state. Spreading poverty, incertitude and the impossibility to adapt to the new contexts are key factors in losing critical judgment while receiving the messages sent out by mass-media.
