Summary/Abstract: Rapid development of ICT techniques and technologies at the turn of the 20thand the 21st century introduced many positive changes in the life of the individual, thewhole society, the functioning of the economy and the state. Easy access to computers,the Internet and communication devices has completely changed the lives of societies. TheInternet is an indispensable tool in everyday life, facilitating communication and exchangeof information, provides new possibilities. The development of computer technology givesmany benefits, but also brings with it the threat of cyber terrorism. Activities in cyberspacehave become an effective weapon in the hands of criminals, terrorist organizations as wellas national governments. Everyone can be a target, but who or what is the goal depends onpolitical, financial or ideological interest. Today’s countries face serious challenges relatedto ensuring the security of the ICT network against the growing scale of cybercrime. Thearticle reviews the characteristics and conditions of threats in cyberspace.
