Methods for measuring the effectiveness of banks

Summary/Abstract: The following paper presents issues concerning the most important methods of measuring bank effectiveness. It overviews the definitions of efficiency and its types. The papers indicates that an efficient bank is characterized by a high degree of innovation and low cost. The objective of banks management is to minimize costs and maximize income, taking into account financial results in relation to the incurred expenditure and costs. The relation between the client and the bank is a source of profit for the bank; that is why the bank should assess the value of this relationship. The main emphasis is put on efficiency measuring methods.
