Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the first part of the monograph "The Sketches on Ukrainian Soviet Drama. Part 1 (1917–1934)", written by N. Kuziakina, which provides the realization of conceptual approaches to the Executed Renaissance study, that was later expanded by further publications. It gave a scientist an opportunity to start the system research on the problems of genesis and genre study of the drama, its ideologic and artistic peculiarities, new tendencies; especially – to consider basic characteristics of the main dramatists of the actual period of the development of Ukrainian literature in 1920-es. According to this not only the method of literary studies but theatre studies had to be used – the author’s view on the problems of establishment and functioning, the peculiarities of stage-implementing and development of new Ukrainian drama.
